    The biggest waves in The world are 100 miles of the coast of San Diego. Place is called Cortez Bank. Waves here can reach up to 100 feet

  6. Actually the biggest wave in history happened in Lituya Bay, Alaska.  The wave was 1,720 feet high.  It happened july 9th, 1958.

  7. Cortez Banks, at least at the moment.  I would recommend checking gout the Billabong XXL website.  It shows the top big waves from around the world.  You will be very surprised at the locations of some of them.

  8. In January 2001, the biggest wave ever surfed was in Cortes Banks by Mike Parsons at about 66ft.

    An official record was a 70-footer ridden in January 2004 by Pete Cabrinha at the Jaws big surf spot, north shore of Maui.  I believe this record still stands.

    New records are currently being considered with the January 2008 rides in Cortes Banks by Mike Parsons, Brad Gerlach, Greg Long and Grant Baker, with waves of about 75 - 85 ft.

    As already mentioned, the biggest wave ever recorded - not surfed - was the Lituya Bay Mega Tsunami wave in 1958, measuring 1720 ft.

  10. Ken Bradshaw rode the largest wave ever. It was on the North Shore of Oahu on a reef outside a popular spot called Log Cabins. The wave was 85 ft.
