Why did it evolve in the first place?

I think I have a good "feel" of why they are important, but I can't put my finger on it.

  1. one advantage is that you can stand up right.  two- I don't believe in evolution . sorry.  Humans are way different from apes and plus if we evolved from apes why are they still here?

  2. Having a back bone also pretects the nerve cord from being damaged.

  3. moving your body

  4. not having to take c**p from anybody is the biggest advantage of having a backbone.

  5. Back bones help us not to collapse as mounds of organs, muscles, and blood. Insects don't have backbones because they have internal skeletons. We need more support than an insect. We are much much larger, heavier, and more complex than insects

  6. Well little boy...it is so people can walk erect...do you know what erect means....no...it means to stand up straight, perpendicular to the ground, oh perpendicular...that is a big word too isn't it, it means straight up to the sky from your backyard....we can't fault you for not knowing what erect means...one day when you are a big boy you will know this word and lots more big people words, now go put on your jammies it's just about time for bed you little rap-scallion!!

  7. Some people will say to walk up right, but other animals have a backbone but don't walk on two feet. I would have to say the biggest advantage would be to keep our form instead of being a sack of organs and blood.
