  1. It is the A380, which is not in regular commerical use as yet... but has made world wide trips already.


  2. If you passenger aircraft, then the A380 will be the biggest. The Boeing 747 was the Queen of the skies until the A380 appeared. The A380 carries about 550-800 people but the 747 carries about 325-525 people. If you compare them side by side, you'll notice that the A380 has a fully extended upper deck while the 747 only has a upperdeck that extends for only about 1/2 of the length of the fuselage.

    The Boeing 747-8 will be a bigger version of current 747s but will be smaller than the A380. It is expected to enter service next year. There is a concept called the "blended wing body" which is expected to carry about 1000 people. There are tests that are being conducted on the blending wing body including a 1/10 sized RC test plane being flown back in the summer.
