What is the biggest earthworm ever discovered?

I am doing a worm project on earthworms for my class, and cant find any more useful info on earthworms. Help would be much appreciated.

  1. The Giant Gippsland Earthworm is probably the largest earthworm in the world, reaching lengths of about one metre long.

    They are found only in a small part of the state of Victoria in Australia.

  3. I don't know if the Guinness Book does earthworms, but when I lived in Massachusetts, after a heavy rain I would see earthworms that were about 2 to 3 feet long come out of the ground.  

    I wasn't afraid of regular earthworms, or even those multi-legged pincer-head sea worms we'd use when we went ocean fishing, but those huge worms used to creep me out, even as a teenager.
