What is the biggest engine a 1996 camaro can can hold...7.4l 454 i hope...because i would like to swap that in

if not what engine would be my best option as far as performance if i cannot hold that big of an engine...i already know the 350 is a monster

  1. well dats not da biggest, u can go with a 580, i dont remember how many liters it is but it got balls to run, idk if its street legal though cuz they use a 580 on a camaro i seen for professional drag racing, but it also depends how much u got or willing to spend


  2. There really isn't enough room for a big block, it's designed tight with a small bolck already. If you can get an LS2 engine it would work best. It's got more power than the LT1 and is compatible with your electronic engine controls. A tuned-up LS2 with over-sized dual exhaust will put out over 500 HP.

  3. A b16 would fit perfect and u would get the most hp with it.

  4. a big block would fit if you are well versed with a cutting torch and a sledgehammer. a 383 would be engine of choice for your application. its a stroker and makes alot of torque and uses most 350 parts and is computer friendly(a power programmer(hypertech i think) would be a good friend to have). the bonus is that you can use your transmission and electronics. a b16 honda motor has 0 torque and should stay in a honda.
