My partner, a home energy consultant, wants to know what is the biggest factor why you would choose an energy supplier. For instance cost, service, price protection, green energy, local call centres etc. Also do you think about changing suppliers and what method would you prefer to do this by i.e. would you prefer to do it over the net or speak to a consultant face to face.

  1. i changed my supplier last week.

the price was cheaper than my previous supplier and the price was capped to next year.

  2. Cost and service!!!! Ive changed both gas and electric suppliers within the last couple of months because i found cheaper suppliers. I changed over on the net, and it all went through without a hitch!!

  3. Cost. Cost and cost.  After that price protection and good customer service.  You know, it would be great if companies started showing some gratitude for customer loyality.

  4. Gosh, I think cost first, renewable sources next, and Service and Speed of Service. Price protection....seems like a mute point in this day and and age...I would change my supplier if I thought I could. We have no natural gas and have propane, but that is easier to find than changing from SDGE our energy supplier. A search turned up this site: http://www.sevenutility.com/index_suppli...

Here is one for you....we have an all electric home, large, with pool and spa. Been here 19 years. Our average monthly bill is about $375.00. In the 19 years that totals up to a whopping $85,500.00......yepper...it sure does. So if I have Supplier Choices...I guess I best be lookin into it. We also have CC&R's so putting up an Energy Windmill is out of the picture.

  5. Substainable cost..

  6. I would change to one that is cheaper !

    Money is everything nowadays...

  7. i think price and green energy

  8. Ask for a mean and live quotation!

  9. Money, to be honest. When British Gas announced their multi-billion pound profit a few months ago yet still hiked their prices by a vast amount, I told them to get lost and switched to another supplier.

I realise that worldwide energy costs are increasing, but the big energy companies are contributing to that via their avariciousness.

I changed mine over the net, and my new supplier did it all for me so I never had to speak to British Gas, and ignored their requests for me to call customer services, as they already had all the info they needed to send me a final bill (which they did without any delay).
