About a 30# carp in Montana.  Snagging them was allowed, and it was a blast when you got one by the tail.

And used a trout rod.  I was about 24.

Caught an 80 lb. shark on a 6 foot ugly stik in Key Largo. The guide had a fit when I pulled it up on the flats skiff, yanked the hook and let it go. I was 50 at the time.
