  1. The Biggest Mystery to me: How Does The Brain Work?

Aristotle thought we form "Categories" and store everything in them. Matteo Ricci (brought Christianity to Peking, 1601) imagined we form "Memory Castles" in which we store and adorn whatever is important to us. The so-called "adornments", he thought, helped us remember all that is important to us and help us be ourselves. Ever hear somebody say "Shh, today he doesn't seem to be himself. Best come back tomorrow"?

Neurologists say we have 100 Trillion links (synapses) in our brain, thinner than hair, much thinner, they carry proteins, drugs, electric pulses and who knows what! Or, why, from neuron to neuron.

The number of links equals, or exceeds, the number of stars in the sky, visible from the Hubble Telescope. That's about all I know.

Oh yes, Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) produce pictures of brain activity using false colors for our benefit, that add little understanding.

To my knowledge, there is not even a rough Hypothesis on how the brain works, yet.  I hope someone will tell me otherwise.

MRI Pictures were taken of a comatose (for 19 years) young man when they noted some response. They saw a branch of the brain grow like a root until it reached the other side and when it did, over many days, the boy began to speak. No medical treatment was used because they knew of none at that time. Perhaps, now they do.

  2. How God has no beginning or end.

  3. The human brain, I just wish we could use it all and see what happens.
