Besides the world being flat and the sun in orbit around the earth. Kennedy assassination, 911 Commission Report, Weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Iran nuclear threat, Bush Family not making money with the Georgian War

  1. heven and h**l..

  2. THE BIG BANG THEORY!

  3. It stands to reason that the biggest myth is one we haven't uncovered yet.

  4. You mean the Earth isn't flat?!?!

If I had to choose one without thinking too hard, it's the myth of America being a capitalist republic.

  5. I suppose the various religious narratives, especially the one about retaining a personality after death.

The official 911 story is not a good example anymore, as more and more people are seeing through the myths surrounding that, but it was pretty good for the first year or so.

All the myths that have provoked war, for the profit of a ruling elite, under a different pretext.

Jesus is up there, as even many atheists still believe he was a real person, (I did until I did some independent thought and research). As so many still believe that, I nominate it as the biggest.
