  6. 40/1, I picked it from the sun newspaper  it was 8/1 by the papers betting guide, I placed my bet at the bookies without checking the prices, anyway, I went to work & checked the result on my phone later, I`d already had two winners at 2/1( £20 on each) then I checked my last & there it was 40/1 (I had £10 on the nose) , at first I thought it was a results error & thought the horse finished at 4/1, so I phoned my mate to check the results on his teletext. he confirmed the price @ 40/1..nice.

  8. i was once given a tip for a horse called fastaran it was an e/w tip and was 66/1 when i got the info as i was going out i decided to put it on at ladds when i got there it was down to 33/1 so i put a ton on it e/w at 33/1 and it got beat by a head into second place at wetherby on the 3rd of feb last year i think it ended up 16/1.

I once couldn't figure out a winner in Mile and 1/8 race ,  so I bet a win ticket on all the 12 horse field.A photo finish the five Cable Stretcher paid $356.00 to win.. he was listed at 99/1. then was only 22 dollar on his win bet. The favorite ran dead last. I stay away from 1/9 horses..it not worth the risk.

  11. I backed a winner once.  It was 5/4 favourite & due to the change in ground which didnt suit him it went out to 10/1 & it still romped home.  Cant remember the name of the horse though.

    Biggest outsider I backed was a 66/1 & put £2.50 each way on it.

  15. My best winner was an ante-post bet at 33-1, but a friend of mine backed a filly in a NH Flat race at Sandown on Imperial Cup Day a few years ago.  She was 33-1 on the Tote but paid £99 for the win.  The Tote lady had to send for more money as she did not have enough in her box!
