  1. Australia & England, we play for the love of the game, not just to crow about who wins. What a pity all countries can't think like that.

  2. Australia Vs England from our end.

The Kiwis would probably say them vs us.

  3. the biggest rivalry that exsists in cricket, always has and always will be Australia VS England!! its where it all started, if we lose a test series or match againist India the only reasons is cos we never like to lose (does anyone?) it really annoys us is because some of the users on here become unbearable on here

if we get beaten by England, its considered a national disgrace!!! the Ashes are the stuff on legend, playing england gave us bodyline, the centenary test, Bothams Ashes in 81, the start of dominance in 89, getting beaten in 05 only to exact 5-nil revenge, those are things everyone remembers cos they were againist England

what do we really remember about playing India, Steve Waughs last test, Deano's 216 in the tied test, Laxmans 281, Clarkes 151 on debut and the c**p Harbjian went on with last summer, aside from that, theres not much that sticks in the mind, whereas the Ashes...well they stick in the mind forever, everyone playing in australia dreams of being in the ashes, if you ask a player in australia "which series would you play if you could only play one series in your career?" all of them are gonna say we want the ashes, its THE cricket rivalry

  4. There is NO better contest in world cricket than 'The Ashes'.

There is something extra about adding history to matches that ensures excitement. I am sure that if you surveyed players they would probably all agree. Australia V England is 'the' tradition in world Cricket and as such there is no greater rivalry. However, this is such a deep seeded rivalry that respect for each other is of equal importance.

However, the rivalry between Australia and India is more recent but is more spiteful. Therefore is not as traditional in that it isn't quite played in spirit of the game - by both sides.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan is as much a territorial and political rivalry as it a sporting one.

So, to sum up, from a purist cricket point of view, Australia V England is the biggest rivalry in cricket, and always will be.

  5. Despite what all Indians here saying India vs Australia...  No No NO ..  it is only ugly rivalry, dirty big mouths is being carried on and the fans making a big dirty deal about it, of course players always play to win and fair but Indians are so jealous with the aussies hierarchy because they want to be recognise that they are now champions hahaha...  that's why they are trying their very best to make the aussies look like cheats even though they are NOT.... read all their replies they keep saying India vs Australia all the time because that's how they want to be known...

England vs Australia are always gonna be great rivals of cricket... spectators watch every game these two teams play with curisoisties and excitement, the ashes has been play on for years and this is why the bodyline was used by the english to win the ashes.... and that is why the battle of the ashes is the real battle of the cricket.

  6. Second one. Hopefully, we will settle the score very soon. I wonder if the crybabies will go to the ICC again once we are done with them. Now you answer my question!

  7. Well for most of the Aussies its still Ashes but for Indians its India Vs Australia

But I think the biggest rivalry is Australia Vs England - Ashes as they play once in two years it can never be boring

  8. Actually the biggest rivalvary started with the Ashes series between England and Australia closely followed by India =- Pakistan series.  Now India-Australia series also have become much fought after series.  Still I consider India-Pakistan series is the higgest rivalry

  9. Defiantly the Aussies and England..The rivalry we have had with the Poms has been going on for years...

The only reason their is so much rivalry between Australia and India is because of that d**n Sydney Test...

  10. Pakistan and India

  11. Australia Vs India

I did mention earlier that  Indo-Pak rivalry has lost its punch ever since the 2 countries became pally.

  12. australia , india

  13. Ind vs Aus is the best these days. The Ashes are fantastic when England show up once every decade or so. Ind vs Pak doesn't have that 'je ne sais quoi' about it anymore... maybe it's because Indians feel they have nothing to prove when you compare the two countries' general standing in the world. Today India is an emerging world super power (which wasn't true 20 years ago) while Pakistan is in shambles. I only wish SA didn't always choke against Aus because that could develop into a great rivalry too.

  14. Australia India - The sheer volume of controversy during the recent series is ample proof

  15. These days it is easily australia and india

  16. England vs Australia in terms of the all time biggest rivalry.  They've been playing each other for so long, and nothing is bigger than the Ashes (in terms of just 2 teams)

Currently, the biggest rivalry is Australia and India, especially after India's recent tour of Australia, and all the stuff that went down.

  17. I don't completely agree with bingalee. As much as it is important to play for the love of the game, it is as important to play to win, or else it's not a 'game' anymore, and nor is it any fun for the spectators.

One can play for the sheer love of the game with their own people or mates as much as one wants, but please don't just do that in a tournament, or else it's no fun....duh !

Play to win, and play fair !

So currently, definitley India-Aus has shown immense rivalry, giving a lot of spice to the spectators. Aus-Eng & Indi-Pak both come a close second right now.
