  1. Why are you asking this in the Caribbean section?  The Black death/Black Plague was in Europe and not the caribbean.  It got the name from the fact that the victims who died from it, turned black


  2. The Black Plague, Bubonic plague actually, was carried by fleas which were on rats that co-habited with people during the middle ages. The resultant sickness had an extremely high mortality rate for humans.
