  1. Well you have to do it bolt by bold, not just any bolt you want. As the tension builds on each bolt the head tightens downd. You tighten the bolts as you go. Google it for the tension requireed for each bolt as you go.


  2. There are different specs for different bolt sizes, and for different applications of the same size.  ie head bolt is different from gearcase mounting or crank case bolts.  Get a manual.

  3. I believe it's 95 INCH pounds of torque, not foot pounds unless you want to strip the threads out of the block.  Check with "iboats.com" in there FREE Mercury Outboard forum for specifics.
