  1. 50 is the required Over current protection device for the appliance. many things are probable but dont risk burning out some range when you can spend 2 dollars more and get the correct breaker. the breaker is to protect the appliance . if it overheats or has a short. a lower breaker size will make the unit shut off earlier. i have also seen cases where the breaker was supposed to trip and did not. All i will say is there was a fire.

  2. It needs to be 50 Amp for a range. If you have a cook top and an oven separate then the breakers for each one will be 30 Amp. But for a range with the oven and burners combined you need the 50 amp breaker.

  3. i just checked my fuse box and i found i have two 220 lines

    the electric range say 50

    the electric dryer says 30

i therefore would have to say nothing less than 50 would be safe.

remember the range has 4 burners and the oven has two elements.  should you be trying to operate all those thing at the same time you'll either blow a breaker or start a fire.

a word to the wise should be sufficient.

    good luck to ya
