  1. If you're in the northern hemisphere at dusk then the brightest object will probably be Venus.  Mars and Saturn are also both visible now (assuming northern hemi) and would be in the western sky.  If it's later at night, then you might be looking at Betelgeuse.  Here are a couple of good online sky charts:

  2. Do you not realize that "the western sky" depends on where YOU are? For me, the only thing in the western sky right now is a few clouds.

  3. I guess that would depend on where you are in the world. North or South, East or West. I am in the West and it is daytime here, but I would have to guess and say that the object you are seeing is the planet Jupiter. If you take even a small telescope, then you should be able to make out the planet very well.

  4. The brightest object in the western sky at present is the planet Saturn, but it is not much brighter than anything else in that direction. Venus is still too close to the Sun to be readily observed, though it will be appearing as an "evening star" over the next few weeks.

  5. its the energy firms burning up their surplus energy that we can't afford to buy

  6. The Sun.

It may be in the western sky but Ireland isn't getting any  of it

  7. dunno but i have seen it once before this year ( i think)
