What is the bright star up in the sky called?

so i have seen a bright star in south west direction in sky for a very long time now and i wander what that star is called. so pls if any one of u have noticed it and know what is it called pls do to me. north eastern region US

This is very vague as there are thousands of seeable stars in the sky with the naked eyes, and probably still a lot there are pretty bright.

It may be Jupiter! Stars will appear to the naked eye to twinkle, but planets will not. If it is not twinkling then it is Jupiter. Also around it are over 60 moons including Io, Europa, Calista and Ganymede.

It's Jupiter. Currently, we are fairly close to the planet.
