  2. The problems caused by cigarettes are all due to incomplete combustion.  Because of this CO2 production from cigarettes is almost nil. No CO2, no carbon footprint.

    It can actually be argued that a smoker exhales less CO2 after inhaling smoke because the CO inhaled lessens the amount of O2 in the bloodstream.


  3. Well, like a tree, tobacco absorbs carbon as it's growing and releases most of it when burned.  So the 'footprint' is very small.

    Of course, your lungs will look like carbon after using the stuff....
