What is the cause behind racial discrimination against blacks in America?

Firstly America was a nation of white people who one fine day sailed to Africa..forced Africans onto boats...sailed them back to America...made them work as slaves...paid them nothing...sold everything the slaves produced...made huge profits...became the richest country in the world...and in the middle of all this sprang up organizations like the KKK who lynched and beheaded(I don't know if its just me but doesn't that sound a lot like what the Al-Qaeda & Taliban are doing right now) blacks for being in country where they don't belong.

Well as I see it the blacks never wanted to be there in the first place...they were brought by force to America...so whats the deal behind all this racism?whats the reason?

  1. Well they were made as slaves by the White Americans because they were good workers, and whenever someone is "beneath" you in social status, you may tend to look down upon them.

The South based most of their economy off slave work, so when the Civil War came, they fought to keep the Blacks as slaves, and lost, but seeing as some people still thought of Blacks as lower than them, as the Blacks worked as their slaves for so long.

So came segregation, another way to discriminate against the "inferior" race by the "superior" people, later found unconstitutional.

  2. same reason for racial discrimination against anyone.

    human stupidity and ignorance.

some humans will always fear and hate tings that are different because their perception is quite narrow and low, close to r****d level.

same way that some of us accept our government systems as de-facto and assume that they actually promote freedom, liberty and justice.

and because some people lack self control, they have the urge to attempt to assert their 'assumed' superiority over others who are different.

    Excellent quote by Truthseeker

"OK, great celebrate your differences, but then don't be upset when people point them out."

  3. i think that if they are brought here because they are different and it makes them feel powerful that they have someone to work for them.

  4. As an African-American male I understand your question. Is you of White descent or are you aryan from India? Well, I'm sorry to tell you but Europeans wasn't the first peoples over here in the New-World(the Americans) the Americans where populated by what we call American Indians(really asians). They was in conflict with them for land and resources and most importantly, GOLD!!! Organize Slavery started around 1497-1525(not quite sure check wiki-p) and that was when whites started to view peoples of color as unequals. That was to correct your first line cause it was in severe error!! Now the body of what you was saying is true!! KKK, Jim Crow, segregation, where acts of terror very much the same as Al-Qaeda is doing to many peoples across the world. Now, to the blacks not wanting to be here? Yes that was true about lets say 400+ years ago. They was taken from home, sold by other blacks into that situation. Beaten,Raped, sailed across a ocean in each others urine and f***s!! Then sold again beaten some more..  Just imagine all of that happening to you? They did't want to be here! America had a program to send Africans back that started the country of Monrovia after Pres. James Monroe. The deal behind all this racism? Is simple when the centerpiece [rich white males] dominate culture rules it's morals are put on everybody else. Their values are along with the ride. If the value of non-whites is low the culture will emulate that. The reason why it's still like that now? The dominate culture has to give it up, and make amends for that! That's where the seed of distrust that blacks has and will always have over whites in America. But we have great potential as a country to overcome this illness. Me a African-American is proud of my country. Even with all it's shortcomings it's the best thing going!!!  Just think about we have bigger problems to deal with in the world. THERMONUCLEAR WAR, CHINA, RUSSIA, INDIA, AND OURSELVES!! GET TOGETHER AMERICA.

    P.S. Truth Seeker

    You is bogus!!!

  5. There's always been hatred towards anything or anyone that's different. Until we can open our eyes and see we're all really the same, this will continue.

And what's even worse!! We bought the slaves from the Africans themselves. Their own tribes didn't want them there.

  6. the racial discrimination against whites by blacks in america.....

we are humans... its natural for us to be wary of things different than ourselves.. we are all racist.. its our mind that decides how we treat once another....

  7. Their countrymen were the ones that sold them! Probably because they have a bad attitude to life and keep beating the racism drum when it has never actually affected their lives.

  8. Crippling ignorance and lack of education (in the sense that few people are aware of what actually transpired during the course of American history). The mindset of that time has also been passed down through the generations, and this is why it continues to persist. Those who made laws 200 years ago are essentially the same people making the laws today, but the vast majority of people in U.S. society are unable to make this connection and apply it to what happens today, in the 21st century. You'll probably hear a lot of people respond to your question with "I can't help what people did 200 years ago!", and this is the very reason why people today simply don't get it, and they never will. See the post below mine for an excellent example of what I'm referring to.

  9. Watch Maury..you will understand.

  10. We have a racism problem because we don't have a well developed caste system as does India.

  11. Probably because people just thought they looked different or something and wanted slaves. Good question, though.

  12. Do you understand how long ago that occured?

A long time ago. Lynchings are no longer popular in the United States. And We are not alone in discriminating or "waging war" against people who are not like us, every other country has done it too. I really do dislike how everyone thinks that is was the US vs the African Americans because it is not so. The North laid their lives out for blacks whom they didnt even know! My grandparents fought in that war and should be given more credit for all they have done to help african-americans

The MODERN discrimination now is as follows:

    they clog up cities

    they get pregnant in highschool

their babies daddies always leave them

they wear their pants too low

    they are loud chicken heads

    they always eat chicken

    they always take unemployment

    they drop out of highschool

and they always claim reverse discrimination.

Not saying its true or not, but those are the more current ones. Hope we've all answered your question!

  13. To start with: You are asking us why white people nearly 200 years ago acted a certain way.  That is one of the things I believe causes racial tension, that we are being held accountable for things that happened hundreds of years ago.  People act as if we should feel guilty that they (who were in no way involved in any of it) were treated badly by us (who also were not involved in any of it).  We are not them.  We don't know what they were thinking.  We don't know why they did those things.  Stop asking!

Also, I think looking at people as "different" is because people of different races say they are no different than anyone else, but then separate themselves and celebrate their differences.  OK, great celebrate your differences, but then don't be upset when people point them out.

EDIT- Slaves were sold by Africans.  Americans didn't just sail on over there, pick up a few hundred people, and go home.  They PURCHASED them from others who were NOT racist (as they were the same race).  Check your history.

  14. because they don't like people thats not their color and could just bust out and say that they are ugly just because of their color you should also look it up on the internet about racisum

  15. Dude your are so wacked. Please study American history and re-ask.
