MY WALL MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM IS SLOWLY LOOKING LIKE THERE ARE BROWN BUGS ON IT.FROM THE BACKSIDE.LOOKS TERRIBLE I AM SURE. IT'S BEEN HANGING IN THE APARTMENT FOR OVER 20 YEARS. WHY IS IT LOSING THE MIRROR FINISH, AND WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT BESIDES PURCHASING A NEW ONE? I AM ABOUT TO ASK THE MANAGEMENT TO CONSIDER REPLACING IT.

  1. Seems like rust or water.

  2. Chances are those brown/black "bugs" are mold. They can appear anywhere that is moist and you can scrub them off with soap, water and a brush. They also appear on the edges of the bath tub.

You don't have to purchase a new one. Just make sure that the air in your bathroom is always ventilated, to keep the moisture and mold away.

  3. you are doing nothing wrong, the silver finish is becoming detatched on the reverse side of the glass, this is normal with mirrors in a very wet to moist environment like a bathroom, eventually it will have to be replaced, the entire finish will litterally be unusable, if its becoming really bad, dont be afraid to tell the land lord, they may replace the mirror at no cost or inconvenience to you, they really are not expensive or time consuming to replace
