  1. If you're worried or scared about something, or are in a new situation...that tends to provoke frequent nightmares. I was going in for several interviews last week and I kept having nightmares.

You can get rid of them by dealing with whatever fear is causing them. In my case, I just kept convincing myself that I was going to do fine and that I am a competent candidate. It worked!

  2. you cannot garauntee that nightmares will go away, they are just the product of your subconscious and all the thoughts that your mind filters throughout the day purging themselves to stay sane, lol.  Try meditating when you lie down for bed, it will bring anxiety down and you will have more restful, less stressfull sleep.

  3. I think that dreams are just a way for your mind to sort out all of the stress and worry that you are are handling in your daily life. (Nightmares are terrible, especially when you remember them)....Try this before you go to bed for the night.....As much as possible, try to relax, play some soothing music that you really like, light some candles, take a bubble bath, anything you can do to put yourself in a calm state of mind will help..And, right before you go to sleep, think about all of the things that you are thankful for...there is something to be said for counting your blessings....LOL.........That always works for me...Maybe it will help you too...good luck and sweet dreams to you....!!!!!!

  4. No one knows the real reason behind pleasant dreams and nightmares.  Every one tries to give opinion on the topic but I find them mostly baseless...that's my experience!

My sons, when small,  were terrified of bad dreams.  I used to tell them not to worry as God above and Mamma here will take care of you while you're asleep.  I always said a prayer (of my own making) while tucking them in for the night.  That gave them tremendous confidence.  If you are not a believer it still works because of psychological reasons.  Anything to pin your hopes on...how ever tenuous!

And then there is this tradition (whether you want to believe or not,  choice is perfectly yours!) where we put anything made of iron (a key, a bangle,  anything) below the pillow of the child.  That again may not have a logical reason behind,  except for boosting confidence...just like a favourite toy makes a child happy!
