What is the cause of Green Algae in my pond?

Not the soup scummy stuff just green water.

So will my oxygenating pump make this worse?

And the carp I was given as gift will they also worsen the effects?

Nitrate levels in your pond feed the algae and make it grow so answer is to remove nitrate completely, only way i know to do this is by using a product called Viresco, its amazing and really works, its a non chemical micro organism product that removes blanket weed and algae completly and you usually only require 1 application a year to solve problem, i use it once a year in my pond and its great, Google it in for direct access to shop site or find it on ebay by typing in VIRESCO.
