Question:

What is the cause of a red blood spot in the eye. its not near the tear thing, but under the pupil..?

  1. it may be a that a blood vessle has bursted(usually not painfully)...go to the eye doctor...but if thats what it is it will heal and clear up..

If its under your pupil you need to get that checked out ASAP.  If it's on the white part of you eye, its probably just a popped blood vessel.  I just had one because of lasik.  You can get them from trauma to your eye, high bp, throwing up, or just bending down to pick something up.  There isn't any treatment for it...you just have to wait it out which takes about 2 weeks.  Using eye drops with slow the healing process too.  It shouldn't impair your vision in any way...it just looks kinda icky for a while.  This website show a pic...if it looks like that...then its a popped blood vessel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subconjunct...
