  1. Cheapest to buy, produce, obtain,..?   Probably natural gas or electricity.   Of course  cars could still be burning coal or wood or tire treads left along the side of the highway.   I'm sure improvements could be made in steam engines or steam turbines if people didn't mind stoking the fire once in awhile and getting a little dirty.   An electric vehicle charged by your own windmill or solar panels would be pretty cheap.   Nuclear batteries (electricity from the heat from elemental decay) would be free and constant once the initial cost was paid for.   Zapping another radioactive element with x-rays would produce enough energy for 30 years of constant running before its half life diminished its return to less than the energy put into it.

  2. probably corn. but its not that good at all

  3. Natural gas and Electricity.  The problem is that supply and demand have not kicked in so those two are heading up to meet diesel and gasoline.

Then when you add in the cost of the car being higher, guess what, the cost per mile including the energy and the amortized cost of the car will make them all about the same.

  4. For me, it's natural gas. I can fill up my cars here in Utah for 87 cents per gallon. I love it! We looked into other alternatives and this was by far the best. Check out my source below and see if it would work for you, too!

  5. The cheapest alternative is a subjective question. You speak directly of fuel costs? What about food costs? What about electricty costs? What about the mobility costs? Your question infers that thier is an easy answer. Sorry-easy answers are hidden behind layers of greed and dis-information. You want tech to ease your frustration?-sorry, greed has dissolved every hope in this reguard. It is a true stand-off between humanity and greed. To prosper to a moral content, you must sacrifice yourself to that end.You must trust in the most concievably rightious outcome, reguardless of the inevetable. Do so with the moral rightiousness  that is correct.

  6. Used motor,and transmission oils.

I burn it in my diesel.Thats 50% non Arab fuels for me.

  7. natural gas

About >.75 per gal gasoline equivalent.

And you can fuel up at home.

  8. Propane or natural gas.  Next is ethyl alcohol.
