  1. There is no other more cost effective form of insurance other than term life insurance. All forms of cash value life insurance use part of your premiums to purchase level term insurance for whole life insurance and for all others part of your premiums goes to annually renewable term insurance. The bottome line is that the insurance companies know that for less money they can cover people for more.

  2. Cheapest and best are at totally different ends of the spectrum on a relative basis.

First off Term IS the cheapest. If you find something cheaper it is not real life insurance and wil lnot cover you for what you think you are covered for. Examples of this are ADB (accidental death benefit insurance) and creditor insurance.

The best as far as providing indexed protection and tax shelterd cash values and lowest premiums long term regardles of health or age, with no expiry til death is either whole life or universal life.

  3. Go to Yahoo Finance, click on "Personal Finance" and read about life insurance.

  4. Whole Life Insurance is permanent and cost more than term.

  5. Cheapest and best all very depending on a person's individual needs.  For someone who is up there in years, they will often be better off purchasing a whole life or universal life policy.  These type of policies can provide a guaranteed cost and a guaranteed death benefit.

For someone younger, you can often find a universal life policy that is less expensive than whole life, but provides more benefits and flexibility than term life.  Many universal life insurance policies today can provide guaranteed coverage until age 100 or longer and many of them can even be indexed to credit interest growth along with the stock market's growth.

Most importantly, take the time to visit with an agent.  A professional agent will review your personal situation and help you find a policy that best fits "YOUR" needs.

Finally, make sure you are dealing with a top-rated company who will be there 20, 30, 50 years from now when your family needs them.  You can find company ratings on www.ambest.com or www.standardandpoors.com as well as from many agents.

    Hope this helps!
