I live in China and know for certain that there are a lot of flights from Beijing to Mongolia.

Another fun way to go to Mongolia is by train and the trans-Siberian railway. Take the K3 or K23 from Beijing to Ulaan Baatar. It will cost approximately 150 USD.

Check your Chinese transit visa/tourist visa situation before buying your tickets.
