I will be starting a college in a few weeks and I got my new car (2006 Mitsubishi Lancer) and I must insure the car because I will be living in Illinois where car insurance is required.

What would be the best auto insurance for me, that will not cost too much money? I am a good student. I am 18 now and I got my license when I was 16. I had no accidents in the past. I have good grades (GPA = 3.8).

I will be having many expenses in college and I don't want car insurance to be one of my biggest expenses..

  1. I reside in Illinois as well but when I moved from the suburbs into the city my insurance rates went up with my existing provider. I would recommend doing a quote comparison for the coverage that you need with different providers in the area. Check this site out it really helped me out http://www.ez-insurancesearch.com. They'll give you some great info and quotes from some of the top providers in the area. Good Luck!

  2. deiviuxs, I recommend you visit a nearby auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Tennessee I can't recommend an agent in Illinois, but here is an resource that can help you. http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.c...

    Good Luck!

  3. The cheapest student car insurance will vary quite a bit depending upon where you live and your personal situation.

The one thing that you can do that will work for everyone is to make sure that you price shop and research thoroughly.

Compare quotes from at least 5 different auto insurance companies and you will be sure to get a good rate. Here is some more information on finding a cheap auto insurance policy:

  4. Your objective is obvious and your purpose is understandable. However be prepare to spend about half a day to reach this goal. Car Insurance market is very aggressive; every company is bombarding you with ton of letters, TV commercials are promising the best rates ever. To check what is true and what is phony in this chaos you need to do following:

    1. Acquire multiple car insurance quotes online, here for instance:

    2. Keeping in mind the best quote you’ve been able to find on an Internet call your local car insurance representative. Don’t disclose to him your numbers and listen to what he will present to you. Then, after he will tell you his numbers, tell him about numbers you’ve found online and see what happened.
