When it comes to a sports car, depending on your age and your driving record, no insurance will be cheap. Pick out a couple of cars you like and ask your insurance company for their rating. Well, i would stay away from a sports car if you want cheap insurance.  For a first time driver, insurance companies will charge you outrageous prices to drive a sports car because statistics show that you are more likely to get in to an accident or a speeding ticket.

If you insist on a sports car, I would go with something that is 5-7 years old and isn't too expensive. Make sure you ask your insurance company about the good student discount (B average or better) if you are in school.
