  1. My Mini is in group 6! No way im gonna be able to afford that!!!!

But really, there isnt one car that is the cheapest to insure. Just get an old ish 1 litre or 1.1 or even 1.2. but it will be £1000-£1500 a year

  2. Mini... hmm, not a good option actually. It's better you go for a keicar like Daihatsu Terios/Toyota Rush...

  3. toyota aygo are quality the tax is only 35 quid pluss the fuel is pukka

  4. Your insurance quote will vary immensely due to a few variables

    Where you live

    Your age

    Your occupation

How many miles you intend to do annually

The voluntary excess you are willing to accept

Also (and this one is so true) the insurance company you use

Check around a lot, use comparison websites and don't be pressurised in to accepting the first quote

    Good luck

  5. it doesnt just go off age,it goes of insurance group, size of car, alarmed, garaged even down to your postcode.

  6. Your best bet is to obtain a list of vehicles and their categories for insurance purposes. They range from category 1 to 22 and after that become a special quote. Most insurance brokers would be happy to give you a list.

Category 1 are the cheapest to insure, so check if there is any vehicle you fancy there, if not go to category 2 and so on.

You do not say how old you are, and as you know insurance for under 25's is expensive.

When you have a small list of vehicles you 'fancy' go back to the brokers (or on line) and check out the insurance price for each individual type. If you are buying the car for cash, 3rd party only insurance will be the cheapest bet. If you are having to finance the car, consider an insurance that will pay off the finance in the event it is stolen or trashed in accident.

  7. something small and old as it will be a lot of money to insure what ever the car.

  8. somthing slow and not 4wd....ive got a 98 pathfinder with 4wd and its fast as h**l and im payin 180 a month. im 16

try getting something like a civic or eclipse....somthing old....insurance on my cadillac is only 85$ a month because its a deville...things old

  9. any 4 cylinder as long as its not a sports car

  10. defo a mini i was about to write that just from reading your main headline lol

  11. No way is a mini classy, but I therefore assume you're looking at older cars - cars are currently split into 20 insurance 'groups', ranging from the cheapest group 1 to the dearest in group 20.

Older cars such as the Mini could be insured as a 'classic' regardless of insurance group, and therefore at a much reduced cost.

    You can check out vehicles by group here - from 1;

  12. Just make sure anything you get is not classified as a 'Sports Car'. My girlfriend has a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with 4 cylinder...and because it has an air spoiler and it's a 2 dr coupe...it's a sports car. the rates are higher. Small cars are not always cheaper. Death rates are higher in the smaller ones....but then in the larger ones ( like a Suburban) you live, but who ever you hit dies. So look at the mid size cars....4 drs... and you should be OK.

  13. If I were you I would buy something like a corsa 1.1 or fiesta  the smaller size engine will help you..Try and keep to so called english cars like ford or vauxhall, the insurance should be cheaper and the parts are plentifully .Now you will soon have a full driving license now comes the hard part keep that license nice and clean, don't do silly things that's going to cost you megabucks when you go to renew your insurance ,or worse get banned if you win 6 points within 2 years. Its hard work I know but its worth it at the end.

I hope this helps you   Regards Mac

  14. its not just a small engine that will get u cheap insurance, its the cars safety features and security aswell, my first car was a 1993 corsa merit, no air bags, no alarm, no power steering etc, if i were u i would go for something new or newish maybe a 1litre toyota yaris or a vw lupo 1litre, its all ways either german or japanese cars for me.

    good luck anyway
