  1. WATER

    steal the food?

then you would be in prison, and they would feed you

  2. i heard of a student who lined all the drawers in his

flat with grease proof paper poured porridge into

the drawers and when he got hungry he just cut

himself a slice this lasted a full term .

    that must be pretty cheap.

  3. Salt Beef Bagel should be no more than £3 and you should be able to get a drink to wash it down - real filling!

Other than that there seems to be a lot of pizza places offering a small pizza with 3 toppings for a pound... Healthy food is so expensive in comparison

  4. You are the only one who can research the costs as it will have to  be based on your own individual needs.

Ask your mum to send you a food parcel from time to time instead of buying you presents.

  5. Fresh is always cheaper than Junk.  Plenty of veggies!  Also buy things that you can create two meals out of.  For example a pack of mince for 150 will create two meals.  Make up a lasagna one night following night Spag Bol. ;-)

  6. steel your food then its free.....lol

  7. If you like Italian food, shopping at the supermarket, you can prepare a dish of pasta with less then a pound.

Fry a bit of garlic in olive oil (Two spoon full) add a tin of pealed tomatoes, let it cook for twenty minutes. Smash the tomatoes .

Boil your favourite shape of pasta (Not the quick cook) in plenty of water (A gallon of water for a pack of 500 grammes of spaghetti) it should take about 9 minutes.

Drain the pasta an pour in the tomato sauce. Add some grated cheese and enjoy it.

It can be enough for three people for a meal.

    Cost:

500 grammes of spaghetti 40 pence.

    tin of tomatoes                   17pence

    garlic                                     5pence

    oil                                        15pence

    cheese                               25pence

    gas and water                   10pence.

    Total                              ÃƒÂ‚£1.12 for three people

The are various alternatives for a similar cost.

If you are interested I am prepared to E mail you some other receips.

I am not a chef but I am an Italian who enjoys food, and value for money

  8. Buy Sainsbury's 'basics' or Tesco's 'value'. Half-dozen eggs are under 60p. Can of beans about 19p. Can of sardines around 35p. Bread 25p.Pack of value tomatoes 60p. Bag of oranges 60p. Milk 36p. Lettuce 49p. Sainsbury's basics muesli bag 60p. These are cheap foods that are high in proteins etc. Much better than a mars bar! (but you can get a big bar of basics chocolate for 23p).

  9. If you want to stay alive for long you need more than one type of food!  The cheapest things are baked beans, eggs, bread, pasta, potatoes, root vegetables, cheese, milk and orange juice, if you have a kitchen lentils are a very good source of protein & you can make lentil soup very easily.  Tins of soup are OK.  You can get really cheap sausages but they are frankly toxic and it would be better to save up for some chicken.  The cheapest meat is liver (if you like it) then chicken.  Tuna is very good for you and other tinned fish like sardines are often cheap.

Best way to save money is to find a good supermarket - Asda, Lidl, Tesco are my favourites

Impossible to say what it costs each week as everyone gets by on different things.  An average family of 4 spends about £100 a week on supermarket shopping - food & domestic stuff like toilet rolls too.  Some people spend £100 on their own, others live on about £20.

  10. if you go to the Indian temple or Buddhist temple you can share their meal for free. I have done both and the food is fantastic if you enloy spicy vegetarian food.

If you are down and out you can get cheap tea and snacks from the Salvation Army and hostels subsidised by the councils will feed homeless people.

Otherwise it is cheapest to eat vegetarian, pasta, baked beans, chick peas, lentils, with bread and potatoes and cheeap fish fingers and tinned sardines etc. You can eat nettle tops for free - like spinach - pick berries for fruit, pick wild nuts etc, pick wild mushrooms - if you just have the time.

You can also fish or pick up sea food off the beach if youlive near the coast.

  11. Own label baked beans.

  12. Domestic economy is the scource of solvency.

The cheapest way to feed yourself, is to budget the food purchases.

Buy at closing time. Buy food that you dont have to pay freezer costs. work out a menu that incorporates food left over from the previous day.buy a steamer. Cook all your fresh veggies in one go.Each nutrion, not junk pizzas, and pre-packed frozen stuff.

    I was dirt poor once

  13. perhaps a bag of jellies for 5p?

  14. go to the bins round the back of Marks And Spencer's "Simply food" about an hour after they have closed for the night. Open. Raid.  If you get caught, apologise, explain you are starving (helps to be thin) and leave. Take food home. Enjoy. I am not joking. Sometimes there is blue dye, but just wash that off the outer packaging (they really overpackage their food, so this is a bonus)

The food will have the sell by date or use by date of that day, and will only have been out of the fridge for an hour, so enjoy. I used to eat like a king doing this, far better than what I could afford! Bring a large bag, you will need it.
