I'll need a simple car (compact, but not ultra-compact) in Munich, preferably to be picked up and returned at the international airport. Rental time - around 15 days.

Thanks!!

  1. Europcar has good prices. Also they make some specials. You can look also on the Web. www.europcar.de/com

  2. You might want to try the Sixt website

http://www.sixt.de  (I didn't find an English version, but you might be luckier).

One warning though: if you rent at the airport (independent of the rental company) make sure they don't charge you a 15% add-on onto the usual fee. They usually do this.

So it might be cheaper to take the public transport to the city and rent from a station there (not at central station, because the same add-on fee applies).

You can always give back the car at the airport if if you didn't pick it up there.

  3. Here's a list of various rental places in Germany:

(scroll down-- car rentals are the third thing listed)

Also, consider picking the car up in the city rather than the airport.  There are extra taxes on rentals at the airport which *really* add up.  From the airport, you can take the S-Bahn (commuter train) very easily to the city center & get your car there.  Take either the S1 or S8 line-- there's a station right there in the airport.

(FYI-- I just ran a comparison on Nova -for a 15 day trip in Sep, compact car:  rental at airport=588 euro;  rental in downtown = 483 euro....)
