You can take Amtrak (leaves in morning) toward Chicago making a stop in Milwaukee. Ticket prices have varied depending on when your leaving (holidays).

if you have local service from your hometown to Minneapolis then greyhound is your best choice with service through madison btw in Milwaukee the Biodome is great to visit as well as the recently renovated Museum of Art.
