Thiruvananthapuram has an international airport with direct flights to the Middle East, Singapore, Maldives and Sri Lanka. It is therefore considered as the doorway to Kerala. It is served by Air-India, Indian , Silk Air, Gulf Air, Qatar Air, Emirates, Kuwait Air and Air Maldives.

Dubai is a major aviation hub.

Take the cheapest flight to Dubai, and from there, change for Athens in Greece.

Qatar airways gives you best fare to Athens (Greece) from India.  Depending on when you want to travel and from which port in India, you can get great fares.

If you are looking for a return fare from Trivandrum, it could be as low as Rs. 44,000 (approx) and from Mumbai it will reduce further to Rs. 32,000 (approx) with all taxes included.  So if you want the best route, i suggest take a train from kerala to Mumbai and then take the Qatar airways flight.  You can doe either a web-booking on Qatar or do it through an agent in keral.  Either way, you will get the fares close to the ones i have mentione above.
