Look at checkatrade and find your local reputable carpet dealer / Fitter. You can read on their website what customers have said about the tradesmen. Recieve more than one quote, and compare the carpets from the different dealers. This is probably the best way to get a deal as you don't have to do the running around. The dealer brings the samples to you.

If your not too picky and you don't mind an old carpet, you could try freecycle. This is where people give thier old carpet away

go to your local carpet center and shop for the brand and price you desire and in most cases the will cut it to fit...good luck
