  1. Is there physical damage to the actual monitor.

    I recently bought a monitor for the exact same laptop on ebay for $20.00...


  2. You could use it as a desktop. Just connect your regular monitor to the VGA slot on the back and configure the monitor to be your default monitor. So your only expense would be that of getting a monitor (any flat panel or CRT monitor would work). Disadvantage would be loss of mobility.

    If you are looking to repair it, you can get the LCD panel from Ebay and maybe find a local techie to help you replace it.
