  1. You can get a ferry from Liverpool for about £40 return (foot passenger) but then you've got to get to Liverpool first!

Flybe fly from Luton for around £70 return or Gatwick from £110

  2. Train & ferry.

Can I just say that if you haven,t booked anywhere, (even a campsite) they,ll throw you off the island for vagrancy.

    Especially during the TT...!

  3. manx air line-

  4. coach and ferry

  5. Walk and swim.

  6. Until the TT finishes on 7 June, nothing's going to be cheap on the island!

But afterwards prices get sensible again. In July, Flybe's fares (flying from Gatwick) start from £26.64 one-way (so £53.28 return).

That compares to the crazy rates for this week and next, with flights to the island from £127.64 tomorrow one-way.

They also have flights from Birmingham, Manchester, Southampton, Luton, Liverpool and Newquay.

As for the Steam Packet ferry, in the run-up to practice week and until well into race week it's always all sold out. Many folk who go to the TT plan from one year to the next (I know; for many years I was one of them!)

The best rate I can find on their site until the end of summer is for a 'Summertime any length of stay special' -- £46.50 each way for a bike and rider, valid for travel between 11 June and 15 September.

There's also a 'Summertime Short Break Special' -- £84 each way for a car and two people on a midweek crossing, valid for travel between 11 June and 15 September. http://www.steam-packet.com/SteamPacket/...
