I don't have a car/van and don't want to move it myself.

  1. carry it

  2. If you go on to ebay and look in the sofas section, you'll find guys with vans advertising for work. Personally, on such a short trip, I would hire a transit van cost about £40-£60 for the day and ask a friend to help. Look under item 270153318014 but check out his feedback!

  3. Get boy scouts to carry it as a charity stunt..

  4. Hold tight.... its downhill........ Enjoy the ride!  ;-)

But seriously you should be able to find a courier on e bay for less then £20.

  5. Ask a couple of mates if they want to participate in a 'charity sofa walk-a-thon'.... encourage them to get fit and prepare for it......then get them to carry it while you take pictures... get the local papers onboard...etc..!!

You might even make a profit...!!! :)

Or on a more serious note.... pop along to your local large sofa-selling outlet... (DFS etc..??), ask nicely, they always have van's moving things around and have contacts with the companies that do it... you might be able to get your sofa tagged onto one of their deliveries..?? Would obviously be a charge for it... but might be more reasonable than setting up your own transport..?

  6. The cheapest way would be to push it down the A1 but you`d

probably wreck it and it would take ages.

  7. rent a van and get a friend to drive it

  8. Er, put some large wheels under it and...

  9. Phone up a removals firm and ask them. Sometimes they may be going somewhere with  half a load and they would be pleased to have extra goods to load on to the truck to help towards the fuel costs and also they won't charge as much as a carrier also they are used to this type of work.
