What is the cheapest way to run 240V 50Hz appliances on US 120V 60Hz power?

There are motors involved so I need the right frequency, but frequency converter transformers are quite expensive, and I can't seem to find a european portable generator available in the US. Is there some ingenious way to do this. Power requirement is about 1500W.

no easy way. you will need to replace the motors if you want to make the change permament.

depending on the device, you might get away with running it off US 240V 60Hz.
