  1. Try the Catalina Island Express. It's a boat.

  2. There is a large boat that leaves from Balboa Island daily in the morning, and returns in the evening.....& it is not expensive.  Be sure to rent a golf cart over there - that is expensive, but worth it!

  3. It's 26 miles to Santa Catalina from San Pedro and there are only three ways to get there...by boat, helicopter or airplane.  I wouldn't try to swim it, though.   The boat trip is fun.  There is a snack bar and lots of times the dolphins follow the boat.  I think the boat would be cheapest.

  4. Google boats to Catalina Island.  Here's one  www.catalinaferries.com       It used to be eight bucks on the slow boats but with the new speed boats I'm sure it's more expensive.  Determine where you need to leave from and select the best price. $66.50 for the catalina express out of Long Beach.. However, this one goes fast.. You can probably find a charter for less but it will take a few hours as opposed to 45 minutes.  Have fun, it's a great place to play and ride bikes.. not many cars.. glass bottom boats.. Be sure to get reservations.
