  1. chips they have 88% of human DNA

  2. Chimps

  3. chimps are. we share about 98% of the same dna.

  4. show on History channel last evening gave chimps/bonobos as the most closest link species to humans.  They stated that theoretically, they would be the closest to attempt an interspecies breeding experiment with........

  5. i think it is chimps for learning ability, curiousity, stuff like that.

sorry, it is just my memory.

but you can check the online site for the

    Yerkes research center.

they probably have the best analysis and data.

  6. Well, we seem to be a bit more similar to bonobos than to chimps. For example, we and bonobos are the only primates that routinely have s*x face to face. And bonobos (Pan paniscus) have longer legs relative to arms as compared to chimps (Pan troglodytes). And bonobos are a bit better at walking on 2 legs than chimps are. However, I believe that chart shows our common ancestor splitting off from the chimp/bonobo common ancestor at the same time, so we should technically be equally related to both species. The split occurred 5-6 million years ago.

  7. The chimpanzee has a 96% DNA similarity to human DNA, but the cockroach has a 98% DNA similarity to human DNA.  Hence, Evolution is a farce.

  8. If you are speaking of DNA, then the chimp is. They are 99.999 % us. All other living matter has the same DNA as we do, but it is structurally different. Think of it as a puzzle with only one correct version for people. If you get 99% of the puzzle right you can see what it wants to look like but will never be sure because of the missing section.

  9. chimpanzees, as they only differ from us 2% genetically. apes differ 3%. bananas differ 50%. crazy huh?

  10. Liberals.  They are just one step below.

  11. Chimps, definitely, as everyone else has said.  We share about 98% of our DNA with them.  There's still a lot of debate over which type of chimp we're closest to, the bonobos or the common chimps.  I'm personally holding out for bonobos, heh, but we separated from those two at about the same time, somewhere around 5.4 million years ago.  We separated from gorillas a bit further back, maybe 8 million years, give or take, and we share slightly less DNA.  There's a link to a chart below.

  12. by closest you mean we shared a common ancestor most recently..

and chimps is the answer you are looking for

  13. As I recall, the Bonobo is the closest living relative to humans. However, as they are often called pygmy or dwarf chimps, they often get lumped into the whole chimp category.

Here is a page from a prof at the University of Washington on Great Apes in general and the bonobo in particular. http://williamcalvin.com/teaching/bonobo...

If you look at the tree, you can see the bonobo is slightly closer to the human branch.

I hope this helps and good luck!
