  1. There are a lot of ethical issues in journalism. As a journalism major, I haven't taken any ethics courses yet (they're taken as a junior or senior) but my begining classes have given a fair overview of ethics. The main ones include:

    -Tell a person if you are recording them (Although it IS legal to record without notification in some states, it is bad ethics but ethics is a different case than legality)

    -No fabrication of sources, stories, etc. (obviously)

    -Usually most publications don't run curse words unless there is a real good reason

    - Also, the guideline of not publishing a minor's name (In listing a crime) is followed

    - Again, quite obvious but somewhat neglected by mainstream media such as TV, is neutrality

    - There are probably plenty more, and of course anything illegal is still illegal...trespass, invasion of privacy...and so on.
