I know, it's a stupid question. But me and my family have a rough haired border collie. the reason I am asking is that in february we plan to go skiing and want to know if the dog can come or not she has kind of long hair.

  1. She'll be fine. Border Collie's are actually bred in cold climates. The Border Collie can withstand tempertures as low as 10 degrees F.

  2. Below freezing is generally what you want to avoid.

  3. Pretty good range of about 100 degrees F from hot down to 0 degrees F

  4. Border collies here are members of the local mountain rescue team so they are out in all weathers including snow training and assisting in search duties.

I also have a BC who doesn't seem to mind the cold but I haven't taken her skiing.

Edit - you may want to check with the resort you plan going to, they may not all allow dogs on the hill.

  5. Most big dogs, like border collies or german shepherds, can withstand

    -20 degrees celcius.

But dont intentionally put ur dog in that temperature.

They can spend no more than half an hour in this temperature.

  6. C'mon don't put your pet on ice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
