I will be traveling by car to the Bart station in Pleasanton between 5AM-6AM and in the evening I will be going back at 530PM-6PM. I landed a job in San Francisco, so I will have a long Bart commute!

  1. about 28 minutes. get off on the hacienda exit, right then left on dublin blvd, left on iron horse pkwy.

FYI if you get to the BART station after or maybe anywhere near 7am you won't get a parking space.

get an EZ pass you can pay for parking with it now.

  2. Join the crowd! The answers given are technically correct, but anyone leaving Tracy at this time will tell you that the drive time for this route can vary greatly. 28-32 minutes is the bare minimum it will take, most days it will be 40 minutes or more I would guess.

Morning traffic out of Tracy actually starts building after 4:30 am, and peaks between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Map the route on Google maps and click the traffic button, then click on "change" where it says "live traffic" on the map. This will allow you to select day of the week and time of day. It gives a general idea of how traffic patterns go in that corridor. traffic.com does a similar function, but only in real time afaik, so you will need to log on some morning at 5am to see that.

BART ride to SF will be the relaxing part of your commute. There are several bus routes which will take you from Tracy and Mountain House to Dublin BART, check out 511.org for more info.
