What is the comparison between rabi and kharif crops?

In India there are two seasons of crops. Kharif crop is taken during monsoon,  and rabi crop is taken in winter. Kharif crop is of wheat, rice, and rabi crop is of pulses, cotton etc

The classification based simply on availability of rain and intensity of sunlight, temperature etc. But we can raise rice, wheat etc in any of these seasons.
