I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but I think you may be trying to figure out the way to hook it up. If so, are you certain that you are looking @ a digital tv, with a dvd recorder with analog output or vice versa.

the solution to your question could be with a modulating device or a component switcher that allows multiple inputs to one output and switching between them

often the solution to a digital device to hook up to an analog tv is a device called a RF modulator. you can pick these up @ radio shack.
