Question:

What is the congestion beating scooter off of fifth gear?

I watched Fifth Gear on Dave over the weekend and they had a little 5 minute part on ways round the congestion charge... including an amphibious vehicle, hybrid or a little petrol scooter that you could drive on a car license and folded up to be 'kept under desk' as they put it.

Does anyone know what that scooter was?

Thanks.

  1. Hi Jody A,

I am not familiar with the show you mentioned, but since no one else as offered to help.  I thought I would give it a shot.  Based on what you are saying, I think there could be three possibilities:

    1.  a mini-scooter- these are small in size, but I do not believe they fold up,

    2. folding scooters-  these scooters do fold up; however, they are more of a mobility scooter (ones used by the disabled), or

    3. a new prototype scooter.  Odds are this is what it was because there are dozens of prototype scooters that get made.  Most do not go into mass production though.  My guess is this was a very unique scooter since it was being shown in a show.

One thing you could do is go to the fifth gear website and send them a letter or if Dave shows repeats, find out the name of the show and ask them.  I tried a search, but was unable to come up with anything.

    Best of luck,

    Kyle Park
