  1. Adult stem cells only with federal dollars. They have been proven to be better suited for research.

Embryonic stem cells have the moral issue. What is stopping a person from breading and aborting just to sell the stem cells. Many people say that will never happen. However it has all ready happened in China. Many did baby girls where found with the heads having the brains sucked out and sold on the black market.

Adult stem cells can even come from fat cells. I think everyone can agree we have a ton of fat in this country.

  2. They want all of us to be unhealthy because rednecks have emotional and social problems with reproductive rights.

  3. They typically oppose it, based on their typical pro-life stance. "Those embryos could be a potential baby." The typical anti-science stance.

  4. The gov is against spending fed funds on stem cell research from fetus'.

They're  not opposed to research on fetal stem cell research.

Any one of the mega-billion$ drug co can research all they want and Universities are still getting Grants to study stem cells

The research is ongoing and producing many results .If any thing some are disappointed the money trough was shut off but the research was never hindered.

Heres a concept----If the feds used your tax money for stem cell research what if any benefit from treatments associated with it be free to the taxpayer.

  5. Conservatives are against providing federal funding for it.

  6. The same as their position on any other scientific research (except for ways to kill people)--they are opposed to it.

That's not hype--it's their track record.  Here's a partial list:

    >they don't like astronomy because of the big bang theory

    >they don't like geology because it shows the earth is more than 6000 years old

    >they don't like paleontology because it supports evolution

    >they don't like biology because it includes evolution

    >they don't like meteorology/climatology because it demonstrates global warming

Apparently they don't like space travel, either--the GOP canceled every

advanced spacecraft R&D program we had--the US will not have a manned spacecraft capability after 2010-12 when the Shuttles retire

They also don't like physics (that big bang theory again), sociology, anthropology, or medical research (stem cells included).

They do seem to be very fond of chemistry and other areas that can be sued to make weapons to kill people more efficiently or in larger and larger numbers.

  7. They oppose it because they feel that the union of the sperm and the egg constitutes human lives. But they don't care about real living beings who meed stem cells to survive.

  8. they're pretty much against ALL research on anything, except on killing people.  for killing people, they want public funding, unless those "people" are unborn.

  9. Conservatives in general do not support federal funding for stem cell research.  Some believe the process could lead to human cloning; however, this would not be the case due to strict federal guidelines that would be enacted.  Also, there are those who feel that this type of research is the taking of a human life, but these same opponents don't appear to have a problem with discarding of unused human embryos at invitro-fertilization clinics.  McCain is a proponent of federal funding, which is the opposite stance of President Bush and most of the Republican party.  A shame so many lives are at risk, and our country is 8 years behind the curve.

  10. Depends, embryonic or...
