  1. The US took a gamble of Bush.

    Look how that worked out....

  2. Conservatives don't "let people live their own lives" as someone put it.  They got to push their moral compass on everyone else and protect us from ourselves.  The g*y marriage issue is no different.  Whether you're for or against it, if you're not g*y, then what does it even have to do with you.  There will still be g*y relationships with or without marriage.  Passing a marriage ban isn't going to stop g**s from dating or living together.

Like I said though, I only bring that up to illustrate my point that conservatives just like sticking their nose in your business and shutting down anything that the church says is wrong.

  3. Generally it depends on whether they are libertarian type conservatives or religious type conservatives.

Libertarian conservatives generally believe in the morality of individual choice over and above govt high mindedness, so are generally pro gambling.

Religious types are generally against gambling. This is not really because of scripture but more because they make the assumption that gambling is an evil and a drain on society and family values.

You should note though that most conservative politicians are a bit wishy washy on gambling. They might be anti online poker but take donations from horse racing associations and support the state lottery or vice versa.

  4. I'm all for it...conservatives believe that individuals are free to live their own lives...
