  1. I have had the pleasure of owning several 2-cycle mc's/vespa etc. ranging frm 200cc single-500cc multi . If you can find/afford try a pure castor based-oil . Maxima 927 is excellent. . also most Yamas as well as other modern 2-cycles now use separate oil-reservoir w/ injector(s)direct to crank-case & or big-end bearings. . .no pre-mix nec. Enjoy!

  2. YZ 85's do not have a seperate tank for oil, no oil injection exists on any motocross bike. Buy a ratio-rite from your dealer. I use Klotz synthetic at 50:1.

  3. Since you have a small separate tank for the 2T oil, you should not have to worry about the mixing part.  Just make sure that the tank has sufficient level of Castrol Super 2T.  Leave the rest to the oil pump.  This is presuming that the oil pump is doing its job right.

Earlier vehicles where you had to mix the 2T with the petrol, a ratio of 50ml per liter was ideal.  However it would make the bike smoke a lot.  Engine would be protected fine but plenty of carbon formation.  Later the recommended ration was 20ml per liter.  If your oil pump is out of order and you are mixing the two, I recommend you to put about 30ml per liter at least.
