  1. If the question was -

    What did you hear?

    I heard a noise.

(This would be more appropriate as an answer.)

    If the question was -

Did you hear (something / a noise)?

    I did hear a noise.

(Then this would be more appropriate as an answer.)

  6. A., "I heard a noise" would be the correct answer.

    B. Would be the correct answer if they asked "Did you hear that noise?".

  7. A

The Active Voice is always preferred over the passive voice

  8. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  9. A is correct

  10. a

  11. In the context of the question 'what did you hear?' then A is correct.

B is grammatically correct but would be used when someone is attempting to convince another person, but wouldn't be prompted by a question, eg

Mother: I've checked outside, there's nothing there, go back to sleep.

Child: (But) I did hear a noise.
