  1. First of all hinging and cocking the wrists are the same thing. The correct sequence is to firm up the back leg as you start the backswing let the club be an extension of your arms and the trigger of your hip turn which will bring the club over your shoulders with the shaft parallel to your stance. You have brought the club up on a swing plane. The downswing follows the same plane through impact with a high finish so the belly or belt buckle are facing the target. Can't do the backswing without explaining the downswing which starts when you plant the front foot.
